Rip of the Week: Stolen Laptop Marinara
There’s more to Italy than beautiful countryside and tasty food. For example, there’s good old fashioned laptop theft, the sort that happens every 12 seconds around the world.
The Fort Mills Times reports that University of West Georgia officials have notified nearly 1,300 that their personal information was on a laptop stolen from a professor travelling in Italy.
Same song, six millionth verse. Now the 1,300 people get to enjoy the heightened identity theft risk. At 99.6% success stopping laptop theft cold, maybe UWG should have considered MyLaptopGPS. Too late.
Hopefully the pasta and coffee were great, at least.
