Tip of the Week: Again, Avoid Distraction in Public
Previously, I posted a Tip of the Week about the dangers of distraction in public. A cause of laptop theft, and especially loss, is distraction. Trying to handle too many things at once usually doesn’t turn out well.
It was worth reiterating that, certainly, even your very life may depend on this. From driving while texting (or even talking on the phone) to walking while doing the same, the dangers about.
CBS 3 in Philly reports on a woman who was struck and killed by a train who, it appears, was distracted by her phone or iPod and didn’t see it coming. It’s a sad reminder and worth reiterating–losing your laptop and, on average, incurring $49,246 in damage due to its data is still a drop in the bucket compared to losing your life.
Be careful.
