Rip of the Week: Blagojevich Lawyers’ Computers Stolen, Evidence Gone

The saga of disgraced former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich continues, as the Chicago Breaking News Center reports that eight computers and a safe were stolen in a burglary at the law offices of Sam Adam and his son, Sam Adam Jr.

One computer contained “undercover recordings from the sweeping corruption case.” Apparently the data was backed up (to other computers in the office that were not stolen), so now it’s more of a question about who has the data. There is no report that it was encrypted, nor the machines trackable, nor any remote deletion capabilities installed.

Life is always interesting in Chicago, for certain.
